Where Can Drinks Lead?

Sometimes, when I'm sitting in the middle of meeting, I start to daydream. Usually I doodle. Write words in an artistic way; whatever comes to mind. I might have a song in my head, so I draw out the titles or lyrics. Other times phrases come to mind based off of what someone might be saying in the meeting. Some of my poems come to me this way. This is how this poem started. It was actually at the bottom of the piece of paper with the beginning of my previous post (See: What's In Your Museum). I had forgotten about it until I found the paper in the pants pocket of my uniform. I tinkered around with it, changed a few lines and made the thought more complete. This is the result. Enjoy.
A Few Drinks
Ending sentences with ellipses
Maybe it’s the unknown with me
Or you don’t know the tools that equip me
I’m talking mentally and physically
As we see where these sips lead
Slowly sharing one another’s energy
Because I take drinks from your mind
Before I taste your bittersweet fruit
Sweet because it gives life
But bitter because it takes it too
Your sanity is in jeopardy once I’m inside you
And I can end up losing my mind too
At our special place is where I’ll fall through
That’s if our thinking is compatible
And after we decide if everything is palatable
For now, let’s enjoy these drinks
With no worries if our mentalities link
